WHITEHOUSE 99, Bromley. Our second dance of the month was on the 21st April, and coincidentally it was another group that had not played for us before STRUCK IT RICH. They had sent Colin a demo CD, and we had booked them on hearing that as they sounded really good. They are a four-piece band and displayed a really professional approach from their sound check through to the end of the evening. The band had a good feel for what the dancers wanted, and they certainly got it - along with some delicate harmonies from the lead singer backed by solid musicianship! Struck it Rich played a varied repertoire of old and new to keep all the dancers happy throughout the evening, with the right sound balance throughout, taking an encore at the end of the evening which seemed to have flown by. Struck it Rich are another good band that we would not hesitate to recommend to any club. To summarize our month, we had two refreshingly good bands, both who will be back again and were appreciated by all our members and guests. Max Townsend.
EAST GARSTON , Newbury. I visited one of my old villages East Garston on Sat June 16th for a one night show at their village hall. A great night, but could have done with a larger hall to listen to STRUCK IT RICH. Sandie, John, Bev and Ed. What a voice Sandie has. She was with Ned Porridge in the past and Obsons Choice. That's going back a few years! Completing the family foursome was Bev on bass guitar. Get them at your club, a friendly group, and such a lovely compilation of country songs. Their tape is brilliant. My favorite for the evening; "Once More". Molly Dyer.
RUSTLERS, Maidstone. STRUCK IT RICH. This is a band I always enjoy, we always have a brilliant evening of country from old to new, some great songs. Sandie, who has a great voice, sang some lovely numbers from Shania Twain, and sang them beautifully. Nice to hear the mandolin. There was a great crowd in tonight, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Collie.
SUSSEX REBELS, Eastbourne. Saturday night we were entertained by STRUCK IT RICH, and what good music they played. The lead singer has a lovely voice, and it was great to be able to dance to everything they played, although they were very enjoyable to listen to as well. Eileen.

PALOMINO, Enfield. On the Ist August another new band made their debut tonight STRUCK IT RICH, a new name, but experienced artists who have appeared in other bands, consisting of Sandie, lead vocals, guitar and keyboards, Ed, pedal steel, Bev bass and last but not least, John, who plays mandolin. It was nice to hear a band using a mandolin instead of a lead guitar and it fitted nicely with Ed's steel playing to add a different dimension to the music which I and most others enjoyed. Sandie has a nice voice which was evident when singing "Commitment" and "From This Moment". They played a wide variety of songs which together with Tom, Terence and Jan celebrating their birthdays, created a great atmosphere. In the last set they performed a knockout version of "Ribbon of Highway" which showed off the mandolin and steel at their best. I am sure that we will be seeing them return in the near future. Rod Callaby.
KENT FESTIVAL, Detling. STRUCK IT RICH. This band is seen a lot around the Kent area, and always give some great country. Sandy has a lovely voice and sings some nice numbers. They have a unique sound and play for the dancers and listeners and also play a lot of instruments. Collie.
YEADING, Hayes. It was good to see that a decent sized crowd had turned up on August 12th to see STRUCK IT RICH. This is a family band from Kent and, while they told us they are all related, they left us to guess what the relationships are! They advertise themselves as having a "distinct and unique sound". I certainly agree with this statement and can add that it was a very enjoyable sound. You can see why when you look at the mix of instruments, steel guitar (a must for me), mandolin (seen all too rarely), bass and either rhythm guitar or keyboard -I never caught Sandie playing both at the same time! They covered a wide range of music which kept the dance floor fully occupied and also pleased the listeners. Examples include "Trail of Tears" (Billy Ray Cyrus), featuring the mandolin, and a slow version of "From This Moment" (Shania Twain) which made a pleasant change to the more up-beat version more commonly heard. All in all a very enjoyable evening in a friendly atmosphere. Dave Wilkinson.

MILTON, Gravesend. On the 27th May we welcomed STRUCK IT RICH, a really good club band. On the band's Sundays off, they sometimes visit the club to see what music and what dances are popular. The lead singer has a brilliant country voice and is complemented by the rest of the band. Barry Carter.
DENVER JUNCTION, Charlton. STRUCK IT RICH. This is the first time Abolene and I have seen this group. We think they are great. Such good harmonies and you could understand what was being said and sung. We will see these four lovely people again I'm sure. Thanks for a great night of country music. Abolene & Bronco.
NEON MOON, Colchester. Saturday April 7th. Have you ever met Sandie, John, Bev and Ed they are a band called STRUCK IT RICH. I can only say that I have never met such professional people before. The array of instruments on the stage was unbelievable and they were all played expertly. Sandie's singing was exceptional and harmonies were spot on. We were treated to old and new country songs and yes I will say it the dance floor was full all night. I didn't get one complaint from our supporters about the group everything that was said was a compliment. How can we thank this group for such an entertaining evening, it is hard to put into words but the one thing I will say is that they were so good we will invite them back again next year. Kathy.
NEW EARLSMEAD, Harrow. STRUCK IT RICH completed the month's band call. What a pleasant surprise it was to see Sandie and John fronting the group and well remembered from their early connections with the Ned Porridge package. How the years fly by! Some fine picking and pleasing vocals highlighted their programme. Apart from a range or recorded work available, if you'd like more info on the group visit their website on wwwstruckitrich.co.uk. All present at these first shows appeared to enjoy the experience. If supported regularly, we can go on from here. Jeff Sargeant.
BEST OF BRITISH, Maidstone. STRUCK IT RICH are two lovely couples playing some great country music. These four are fine musicians and a great evening was had by all. Collie & Grace.
